Helen Penney,
Senior Paraplanner and PA to Michael Colyer

Helen has been with the practice from the outset and is an invaluable asset to the business. Prior to joining Colyer Associates Helen was an administrator within the insurance industry. Helen’s extensive experience in financial administration and superb client liaison is invaluable to the specialist team. Helen also provides PA support to Michael.

Outside of the office Helen is a very impressive grade 8 piano player, and uses her skills by playing the organ in her local church. Helen is also an avid and enthusiastic tennis fan.

Naomi Draycott CII (MP & ER),
Paraplanner and Paraplanner Trainer

Naomi joined the team in November 2014, following completion of A levels, including Business Studies and Law.

Naomi is a person who truly enjoys her work, her enthusiasm and desire to produce outstanding client work spills over into her training of the junior members of the team. The specialist knowledge that she has gained whilst working with Michael on highly complex pension and business exit work is invaluable to the team.

Naomi is currently undertaking the examinations for the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and will continue the route to Chartered Status. Naomi has already achieved qualifications which allows her to be recognised as CII (MP & ER) Chartered Insurance Institute (Mortgage and Equity Release Professional).

In her spare time, Naomi who is a grade 5 singer is a member of the ‘Manhattan Voices’ vocal ensemble. Naomi is also enthusiastically learning to play the guitar. Never wanting to waste a minute of her life Naomi is also a Brownie leader, known as Hedgehog.

Rachel Sheppard,

Rachel joined the team in 2018, keen to begin a career in financial services and become a professionally qualified paraplanner.

Rachel is a very enthusiastic team member and is thoroughly enjoying learning the more technical aspects of her role. Rachel is undertaking the St. James's Place internal accreditations and is completing the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Outside of work Rachel is a keen theatre goer, often accompanied by her father as both are huge comedy enthusiasts. Rachel has previously undertaken the challenge of learning and taking examinations in many forms of dance, including ballet and Irish dancing. Rachel is also, an exceptionally keen horsewoman and spends most of her free time with her equine companions.

Tamara Prestwich BSc (Hons),

Tamara joined the team in October 2019, having obtained a BSc (Hons) Degree in Rural Land Management from the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, and more recently working in sales and administration roles. Tamara brings to the team a passion to provide an excellent level of customer service, coupled with a strong desire to build long-standing client relationships.

Alongside her general paraplanning training and completing the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, Tamara is undertaking the St. James's Place internal accreditations.

In her spare time, Tamara likes to keep active and can often be found enjoying country pursuits accompanied by her Labradors. Tamara has long been a keen swimmer, having competed at County level, and very much enjoys a game of tennis when the weather permits.

Michael Kipling,
Financial Administration Specialist

Michael joined our team in 2017, whilst undertaking his A level studies and in July 2018 Michael joined the team full time. Michael is known as ‘Stuart’ in the office to avoid confusion!

Michael is incredibly motivated, as well as training in the office, Michael is part of our in-house Undergraduate Scheme, undertaking a 4-year Chartered Management Degree with Coventry University (Scarborough Campus) on a part time basis, combined with studying for the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning so he is very busy!

In any spare time, Michael is a huge cricket fan, he thoroughly enjoys playing for his village team and saving his holiday allocation to enjoy watching Yorkshire play at every opportunity.

Michael has also begun his cricket coaching certificates, having attained level one he is now moving forward onto the other levels. His motivation is to bring the same enjoyment he experiences by playing cricket to junior players.
